Alejandro Zayas Bio


Alejandro Zayas was born on August 12, in Brooklyn, NY, parents of Puerto Rican descent. He was raised in the musical melting pot of Queens, New York, in the neighborhood of Ridgewood. Alejandro Zayas is the second youngest of five children.  Alejandro attended  local church with his grandmother, aunt and her husband.  At the age of 6 Alejandro began playing the drums during the church services. From early on, Alejandro showed the the signs of a leader.  At the church he rose from Children’s President to Youth President.  While in high school, Alejandro served as the Student Liaison and NYC Department of Education Student Chancellor’s Advisory Committee.  He then went on to work as an event planner and artist promoter.  His first job was to promote and walk as personal assistant with Latin Grammy winner artist Samuel Hernandez.  Alejandro later became the Executive Director of the Puerto Rican State Parade & Festival of New York, Inc, The Brooklyn Three Kings Parade, and Brooklyn Dominican Day Parade  where celebrity artists including, Daddy Yankee, La India, Omega, Luis Enrique, Michael Stuart, Jerry Rivera, Dynasty, and many more performed for the public. In 2011 Alejandro made a investment on a social Network called Latinprofiles.com with otherinvestors. On March 2011 Alejandro got contacted to become the Executive Director for the Premios Latinos NYC, sponsored by Telemundo. In addition, Alejandro serves as the youngest Executive in the history of the boards of The Lower East-Side Hispanic Committee, Inc., the Children’s Evangelical Parade, Inc., the New York State Chaplain Task Force, Inc., Asociacion de Ministros, Inc. and the 90th Precinct Clergy Council, Inc, 83rd Precinct Clergy Council, Inc, Fatternal Order of Police. and  Department of Education Student Chancellor’s Advisory Committee. Alejandro is also the Founder/Commander of the Williamsburg Civilian Observation Patrol. On June 9th 2011, Alejandro made the decision to become a Christian bilingual (English/Spanish) Singer.  Alejandro’s decision is being supported by many including The Lower East-Side Hispanic Committee, Inc., The Asociacion de Ministros, Inc., The New York State Chaplain Task Force, Inc., The Action In Christ International Church, Urban Youth Society, Inc., Premios Latinos NYC, Inc., Movimiento Evangelistico de Uncion, Inc., the Christian book Author, the Reverend Marcos Antonio Miranda, and His Company Urban Negotiators.
